GIVING TUESDAY

Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that is usually held later in the year, but the initiative has been brought forward as a response to helping fight against the impacts of COVID-19. Campaigns across the world are uniting on Tuesday, May 5 for GivingTuesdayNow. We have a target of $5,000 to raise, and ask if you could set a reminder on this date to give to our COVID-19 Appeal via the link below. Funds raised will help us as we adapt our service provision and respond to immediate needs created by the current situation. Donate to MarionLIFE's COVID-19 Appeal here https://www.givenow.com.au/marionlife-covid-19

If you would like to spread the word on social media, use the #GivingTuesdayNow hashtag, plus tag MarionLIFE Community Services and GivingTuesdayAUS in your post.

THE STAYING CONNECTED PROJECT

We have launched The Staying Connected Project to help those in the community who are digitally disconnected to remain socially connected. The project connects volunteers with vulnerable people in the community who are looking for someone to check in with them via a phone call or letter. A friendly voice on the phone or letter in the mail can make a big difference. A feature of the project that we are particularly excited about is a letterbox that has also been installed on Alawoona Avenue, Mitchell Park making it possible for anyone to drop off letters of kindness and encouragement that are then passed on to those who need it most. If you would like to get involved or want more information visit https://marionlife.org.au/thestayingconnectedproject.

MARIONLIFE YOUTH ONLINE

We would normally be hosting our youth drop-in centre and helping with local youth events. As these in-person connections are unable to happen right now, we have adapted the program to run online. This is an online youth activities and support hub for youth aged 10-17 years and a great opportunity for youth in our community to continue to stay connected and supported in these uncertain times. Each session provides fun activities, youth-friendly wellbeing content and free chat time. Parents of young people are able to register their child for MarionLIFE Youth Online by contacting MarionLIFE on 82770304 or info@marionlife.org.au.
