Family Law Advice Toolkit LegalAid NSW

The toolkit was developed by family lawyers in Legal Aid NSW and draws together a range of materials that are typically provided to clients during face-to-face advice sessions, but in electronic form.

The toolkit contains links to a set of frequently used and 'must have' publications, referral documents, 'do it yourself' kits and court forms. The resources cover common advice topics such as applying for legal aid, divorce, de facto relationships, family dispute resolution, parenting, relocation, overseas travel, child support, property, money, care and protection as well as adoption.

There are factsheets to guide clients in relation to family law issues arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, for support persons as well as for clients seeking support to escape domestic and family violence. The toolkit's contents will be updated as new resources are developed.
